Lotte Schoene

We have a great deal to thank youtube for, for me it saves me from rummaging through my record collection. I've not beaten Youtube yet but one day, I might ! Here is a gem of an early recording; Lotte Schoene and 'Je suis Titania' , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NarYVYeheHY., to my mind only bettered by the 50 odd years later recording by the late Beverley Sills, who was 50 years old at the time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARX0GbA9TJo. Sills, a particular favourite of mine, made other recordings of this aria not on Youtube which are superior, but who is quibbling ? Not me !.
Regards,
Geoff.

Thank you for mentioning Lotte SChöne. - One of my BIG loves.

A firm and lovely voice with a great deal of charm and a great singer!

So many fine recordings - actually have not heard yet a single bad one.
Among my favourites are:

with the great Willi Domgraf-Fassbaender:

also most charming in operetta.
