Full opera or aria, what's your most treasured recording? Has it always been that recording?

Hard question, but I would probably say Giuseppe di Stefano's 1949 Salut Demeure where he sings the high C in dominoendo.

The recording of 'Questo o quella' (Rigoletto) delivered by Jussi Bjorling.
I was 13 years old at the time and it left me in awe. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since then. I've attended many opera performances, listened to many operatic performances on record from the old 78 rpm recordings, then LPs and more recently CDs. Jussi Bjorling still knocks me for six.

Madga Olivero's San Jacopino Chiesa Concert (March 28, 1969) which I bought from a well known on-line site. It contains 13 beautifully sung arias liberally sprinkled with masse di voce. My favorite among The Favorite is the rendition of Vissi d'arte

Since it got me interested in opera, I would have to say Di Stefano's 1959 London recording of arias. I also would place the original 45 rpm issue of Ferruccio Tagliavini's Neopolitan songs waaaay up there, also.
